NATIONAL GALLERY TALK: UNMAKING MARY

In June, Sharon joined a powerful panel discussion for the launch of Chine McDonald’s book, Unmaking Mary at the National Gallery.

They explored how religious iconography of the Virgin Mary has shaped narratives around womanhood and motherhood. She spoke from the lens of contemporary art, reflecting on her own work and that of inspiring artists like Amy Sherald and Caroline Walker.
